EQUIPMENT
This section contains recommendations on equipment/suppliers we have used over the years. In order to achieve successful results it is imperative that reliable equipment be used. If a pump continually looses prime or the conductivity keeps drifting from the set point the program results will not be optimal.
CONTROLLERS
The Walchem controllers we use have operated flawlessly over the years. Besides reliable and accurate operation these units can be easily tied into your IT system. Each controller has it’s own URL so it can be accessed over the web for remote monitoring and control. Finally the Walchem product line covers the entire gamut of water treatment applications.

PUMPS
Our preference over the years has been Pulsafeeder diaphragm chemical feed pumps. Most importantly these are reliable pumps that do not lose prime and provide accurate feed rates for years. Priming is easy with the pressure relief valve. Rebuilding the liquid end is a snap.

METERS
Carlon contacting water meters provide years of trouble free operation. Carlon offers a five year warrantee when used in conjunction with a soft closing solenoid.

FILTERS
For string wound filters and SS filter housings we turn to the Murdock Company. They own both the filter winding and fabrication operation, provide competitive prices and timely deliveries. www.murdockcompany.com
HALOGENATOR
The Halogenator is a simple yet effective mixing set-up which generates hypobromous acid, an oxidizing biocide. The Halogenator uses bleach and sodium bromide as the precursors, both being relatively inexpensive. This system can supply a pound of active bromine for $2.50 while the solid tabs are $7.50/lbs. A significant cost savings. In most situations a Halogenator will be supplied with the program.
PRETREATMENT – SOFTENERS/RO/DI
Finding a reliable and knowledgeable pretreatment company was one of our bigger challenges. Only one passed the test – Crossbow Industrial. From simple softeners to condensate polishers – they do it all.

CONSULTANT
Dr. Mike Fehr is the brightest individual I have meet in the water treatment field in over thirty years. This ex-Nalco alumni (most of us are) was instrumental in bringing the tracer program to market. Mike has three key assets which he brings to the table:

A thorough understanding of chemistry – doctorate in physical chemistry
A high level of integrity
Concern for his customers bottom line
We have the same philosophy on customers, which explains our excellent working relationship. mike@fehrsolutions.com
